Akademi at Tales of Silk and Music Festival in Devonshire Square

Akademi has been invited to take part in the ‘Tales of Silk and Music’ Indian Dance Festival organised by Devonshire Square. 

This festival marks the UK-India Year of Culture with a journey through Indian dance styles, including Indian classical, folk and Bollywood dances that will take place every Thursday from 6 July to 17 August between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

The 7 week programme will showcase the following free performances by Akademi:

13 July 2017, 12:30 -1:30pm : Odissi duet by Maryam Shakiba and Katrina Rute

20 July 2017, 12:30 -1:30pm : Bharatanatyam duet by Sarjan Nartan Academy

27 July 2017, 12:30 -1:30pm : Dandiya group performance by Dancenbeats

3 August 2017, 12:30 -1:30pm : Manipuri solo by Debanjali Biswas

10 August 2017, 12:30 -1:30pm : Kathak group performance by Sujata Banerjee Dance Company

17 August 2017, 12:30 -1:30pm : Rajasthani folk dance by Sarjan Nartan Academy
