Akademi was honoured to have been invited to perform along side The BBC Singers and Chief Conductor Sofi Jeannin on 19 October 2018, in an evening where French Baroque meets Indian classical dance to create music beyond boundaries.

The BBC Singers welcomed their newly-appointed Chief Conductor, Sofi Jeannin, in a programme of glorious music for the 18th-century royal stage by Rameau and Lully. At the London performance, Akademi joined them and the Academy of Ancient Music for a vibrant and contemporary interpretation of dances from Rameau’s operas in the classical Indian dance forms of Bharatanatyam and Kathak.

Kathak performances and choreography by ANKH Dance members Shivani Sethia, Seema Patel and Jesal Patel.

Bharatanatyam choreography by Pushkala Gopal, performances by Uma Venkataraman, Abirami Namasivayam and Sudaresan Ramesh of Sanskriti UK.
