Masterclasses & visiting artists

For decades, Akademi has been organising masterclasses with experts and visiting artists, to bring professional development opportunities to South Asian dance artists based in the UK.

We have been privileged to have some of the most legendary dance artists deliver these workshops and intensives which have been very well received. These included Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra, Alarmel Valli and Guru Balakrishnan amongst others.

Akademi, from time to time, has also brought in lighting designers, fundraising specialists, health practitioners and several such professionals to provide a holistic overview of performance management to the artists and equip them with ancillary skills.
