Dance Well | Introducing the 2019 artists

May 30, 2019

Earlier this year, Akademi were pleased to announce that the Dance Well project had secured funding from Linbury Trust and City Bridge Trust to continue this innovative work for a further 3 years. After an extremely popular recruitment process we are pleased to announce the dance artists who will be delivering this work to improve the health and wellbeing of older adults across London.

As we move into this second phase of Dance Well, Akademi is keen to encourage artistic collaboration and exploration of creativity between dance artists as well as drawing on the creativity of our wonderful participants.

We are excited to be able to deliver 24 weeks of workshops with our partner organisations, including hospitals, community organisations and dementia care homes, to truly embed South Asian dance in the health pathways of older adults. These projects will develop collaborative working between dancers, clinical staff and older adults; building relationships, confidence and self-efficacy.
