A unique presentation of Bharatanatyam and Kuchupudi set within a historical fictional novel from 14th century South India. Suitable for all age groups, and especially of interest to those who love a good story, set in the sumptuous environment of a Indian Hindu temple, animating divine myths and legends.

This is a promenade performance, taking in two different spaces within the temple premises, and will last 2 hours. Come early and visit the temple before the show starts. You are welcome to stay on after the show and converse with the performers or have a chat about the characters in the story, our concept of dance within text, or simply look around the temple.

Celebrating 40 inspiring years.

2019 is Akademi’s 40th anniversary year and we want to celebrate the breadth and richness of South Asian dance in the UK. We’ve invited artists to submit information on London-based events that they are planning between April 2019 and April 2020 to form the Akademi Associated programme.
