Srishti follows the Kathak and Bharatanatyam syllabi of the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). Nina Rajarani MBE was the Secretary of the Classical Indian Dance Faculty of the ISTD from 1999 to 2014, has been a founder Committee Member of the Faculty and is also a Senior Bharatanatyam examiner for the ISTD. She was a core member of the steering committee that created the Bharatanatyam syllabus, was responsible for writing the original syllabus and its Specifications and has been actively involved in all syllabus revisions and updates thereafter. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Classical Indian Dance Faculty of the ISTD.

Y Yadavan teaches Karnatic vocal music at the school and regularly prepares his students for vocal examinations and public performances.

Celebrating 40 inspiring years.

2019 is Akademi’s 40th anniversary year and we want to celebrate the breadth and richness of South Asian dance in the UK. We’ve invited artists to submit information on London-based events that they are planning between April 2019 and April 2020 to form the Akademi Associated programme.
