Dr Kapila Vatsyayan passes away

Akademi is deeply saddened to learn that our patron and renowned art scholar, Padma Vibhushan Dr Kapila Vatsyayan, is no more. She was the Chairperson of Asia Project in India International Centre, Delhi and the founding director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts.

Kapila Vatsyayan was an extraordinary visionary, committed worker and a beautiful soul. Her death is a huge loss to the art world. 

We remain forever grateful to her for her sound advice and words of encouragement towards Akademi’s work over the years. We will miss her.
