Moira Sinclair visits Papillon House

Akademi’s Paul Hamlyn Foundation funded Reach Out and Reveal project is coming up to its first anniversary and the work at the two schools is well under way.

On 16 May we welcomed Moira Sinclair, CEO of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation at the Papillon House school to see first hand the work that is taking place. Moira met the school staff, observed a session and spoke with Anusha Subramanyam – our lead South Asian Dance artist at the school.

During her visit, Moira was joined by Akademi Director Mira Kaushik OBE and Project Manager Joe West. They talked about the potential plans for the future of this project.

The school welcomed and thanked both Moira and Mira for the contribution they are making to the education of the schools learners.

Later Moira tweeted – ” A privilege to visit Papillon House School to see work of dance artist Anusha Subramanyam from Akademi and to hear from teachers about the transformational impact of it on the physical, social and educational progress of young people with autism. “
