A rare Classical evening of Kuchipudi by Shallu Jindal – a celebrated artist from India.

First presented at Kings Place, London, Saturday 24 October 2015.

Akademi, in partnership with ShivaNova, presented a rare Classical evening of Kuchipudi by Shallu Jindal – a celebrated artist from India. This was her first performance in London. Her performance created a blend of grace and rhythm, showcasing the transition of an ancient style into an urban dance experience. Shallu Jindal is one of the finest disciples of Radha and Raja Reddy.

ShivaNova in partnership with Sound and Music’s Summer School programme have selected a range of women composers to commission short pieces for their mix of classical, Indian and jazz musicians with Jean Toussaint (saxophonist), Alex Housego (Indian and Western flutes) + Indian percussion. This concert will feature world premieres from these bright young stars of the future.
