Support during COVID-19
In the past few weeks, the Akademi team has had the privilege of witnessing the immense sense of camaraderie and kindness that has filled the dance sector in these testing times. It is heartening to see the resilience of those around us and their creativity in dealing with this unprecedented situation. We really cherish the conversations that we continue to hold with artists and remain inspired by your perseverance and sheer dedication in the face of adversity.
We’d like you to know that even though our team is working remotely, we are very much available to share advice, guidance or just to have a chat to help you think through things and plan for the future. We are here to listen to you and want to do all that we can to support our community and our artists.
We are keeping a close eye on the COVID-19 situation along with the guidance released by the Government and relevant support organisations, to ensure the well-being of our artists, team and partners. We are closely working with Arts Council, our partner trusts and foundations and other dance organisations to mitigate the impact these challenging times are having on us all.
If you are somebody working within the South Asian dance sector, please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions or need assistance/signposting with:
• Funding applications such as ACE Emergency Fund, Outdoor Arts Sector Support Fund and more
• Accessing information on other available support and resources
• Seeking expertise from our team on skills such as producing and promoting digital content
We may not have all the answers but we hope to point you in the right direction.
We have also put together a COVID-19 support page where we will be releasing useful resources, advice, and updates regularly. Please also visit our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages where we will continue to share updates and information.
In the meantime, stay indoors and stay safe!
